Kenya's automotive market includes formal motor dealerships, authorised vehicle dealers, independent used-car dealers and car yards selling new and used vehicles across a wide range of brands and vehicle types. Some specialise in particular manufacturers, Japanese imports, European vehicles, luxury cars, commercial vehicles, hybrids or electric vehicles.
Many formal dealerships, particularly those representing new vehicle brands, also provide after-sales services such as servicing, repairs, diagnostics, genuine spare parts and warranty support.
Used vehicles are also widely sold through car yards, with many cars being imported from Japan alongside European and other international markets. Car yards may offer multiple brands or specialise in particular vehicle types, manufacturers or market segments. Purchase options can include cash, hire purchase, bank financing and trade-ins, depending on the dealer.
